Business Integration Business Rules

One of our core service offering differentiators is the ability to do more than just translate and deliver documents or data from one party to another. All document data is translated and stored on LANNSYS servers in a normalized, proprietary XML standard. This allows you to apply network based business rules and data validation, providing partner specific business process configuration and workflow. This service also allows you to benefit from exception management.

Business rules may be used for a variety of purposes:

  • to validate data
  • to transform data elements
  • to enforce workflow
  • to automate business processes

Business rules may be applied and configured by document type and/or trading partner. Some common examples of business rules:

  • Order acknowledgement required within 48 hours
  • Send alert to buyer if a PO has not been acknowledged
  • Invoice number must be unique
  • Allow/disallow additional charges on invoice (e.g. setup fee)
  • Service description must be provided for all service invoices
  • Send invoices over x$ to department supervisor for approval
  • If freight allowed on invoice, reject if freight > $x or x%
  • Send alert to supplier when payment received on invoice

LANNSYS has developed a library of configurable common business rules that have been incorporated into our process-specific solutions.
